Utilities / LRC file help

Make your existing LRC file work where you need it

Bring an LRC file and describe the problem: a player rejects it, the words appear late, or your editor needs a different format. The assistant helps you choose the next operation.

Try this in the assistant

This guide is in English. The assistant supports 83 interface languages.

Conversion starts with the timing you have

An LRC file pairs text with start times. Enhanced LRC may also contain word timing. Subtitle formats often need a start and end for each cue, so an export has to turn those source boundaries into readable blocks.

Ask for SRT for a compatible video editor or VTT for a web player. Check the first and last caption after conversion, especially when the source has a long instrumental gap.

Describe the symptom before changing every timestamp

If every line is late by the same amount, ask for a fixed shift. If the beginning matches but later lines drift away, describe the changed playback speed or edited recording. These are different repairs.

Example
Convert this LRC to SRT and move the captions 750 milliseconds earlier.

Need to create timings from scratch?

For a song and untimed lyrics, LyricTimestamps provides a dedicated word-alignment workspace. Use it to generate and manually refine timings, then return here when you need help converting or preparing those files for another tool.

Questions about this workflow

How do I create timings for lyrics that are not timed yet?

Use LyricTimestamps to generate word-level timings from audio and supplied lyrics, then refine them in its dedicated editor. Bring the checked file here for conversion or help with another app.

Will changing the extension from .lrc to .srt work?

No. The timestamp syntax and cue structure differ. Use a conversion and check the exported file in its target app.

Will an SRT export retain every word boundary?

SRT normally represents caption cues rather than karaoke word highlighting. Keep an original word-timing file if you need to preserve that detail.
