Guides / Plan a timed-text workflow

Work out which part of your timing workflow is missing

Audio, text and timing are separate ingredients. Tell the assistant which ones you already have so it can guide the useful next step.

Try this in the assistant

This guide is in English. The assistant supports 83 interface languages.

Begin with an inventory

Identify the media version, the verified text, any existing timing file and the final destination. If you only have a recording, the missing text is a different task from aligning a lyric sheet you already trust.

  • Audio plus exact song lyrics: use LyricTimestamps for word alignment and manual refinement.
  • Existing timings with sync problems: investigate offsets, drift or edit boundaries.
  • Checked timings in the wrong format: convert for the destination app.
  • DJ set or compilation song starts: use SongTimestamps for the specialist tracklist workflow.

Review before creating delivery versions

Correct text and timing in the best available source, then export for each destination. Fixing several separate delivery files independently makes them drift apart and complicates later revisions.

Make the final check in the final app

Open the result with the recording that will actually be delivered. Listen through representative points, inspect line wrapping and check the end. Keep the original media and timing data so the workflow can be repeated.

Questions about this workflow

Do all timestamp tasks mean lyric timing?

No. Word boundaries within a song, subtitle cues and the starts of separate tracks are different jobs with different outputs.

Where should I generate new lyric timings?

LyricTimestamps is the dedicated product for automatic alignment plus manual word-level correction.

Where should I make a DJ mix tracklist?

Use SongTimestamps to prepare song-start timestamps, DJ tracklists and compilation chapters.
